Baristas - Cafe Staff

Job Summary:
Baristas are the face of the company to all our customers and provide the customer with an overall satisfactory coffee experience. They perform various functions that include, but are not limited to, taking customer orders, coffee and food preparation, cash handling, and cafe maintenance. They are required to be knowledgeable about all aspects of our coffee, food, retail, and other products in order to maintain the highest standards of excellence.

Duties Include:
* Providing an exceptional coffee experience in the cafe.
* Preparing all coffee and specialty coffee drinks to the highest company standards.
* Assisting customers with courteous and swift service.
* Cleaning and maintaining cafe and all equipment.
* Following food and safety guidelines.
* Facilitating personal learning and career development by attending training classes and initiating on the training.

Requirements:
6 months to 1 year previous espresso preparation experience, and customer service experience in a restaurant or retail setting

Sales Support Specialist
Location: Humboldt

Job Summary:
The Sales Support Specialist is the primary contactfor wholesale account management. This position is required to process all orders accurately, efficiently, and timely to provide the customer with quality and consistent service. The Sales Support Specialist achieves this goal by generating sales orders and invoices and maintaing accounts through consistent communication with internal/external customers, sales representatives, and other departments.

Duties Include:
* Maintain wholesale accounts by processing orders, resolving customer issues, and answering questions in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner.
* Provide customers with accurate information regarding all Alterra Coffee and Alterra Baking Company's products and services.
* Demonstrate consistent follow through for customers and co-workers questions and issues.
* Assist sales representatives as required with prospective accounts including proper account setup.
* Assist wholesale accounts in placing their first order and ensuring all account requirements are met.
* Assist sales represntatives in pre-qualifying interested prospective customers.
* Participate in continual improvement of Sales Support Department processes.
* Present Alterra Coffee as a friendly, knowledgeable company interested in servicing its customers to meet their business objectives.
* Demonstrate good communication, technical and professional skills by anticipating customer and Alterra staff needs, offering assistance and comunicating in a timely and efficient manner.
* Perform various tasks and projects as assigned by supervisor.
* Answering and directing phone calls.
* Accounts receivable cash application.
* Accounts receivable collections.
* Maintaining order databases.
* Using MAS 200 Accounting system for daily and research purposes.
* Ordering of office supplies.
* Occasional or on-call weekend support.
* Other duties or projects as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements:
High school education or equivalent. 2-3 years experience in a customer service field preferably in an office setting. Knowledge of MS Office Suite, web-based and business applications. Ability to use various office equipment.

Graphic/Communication Designer
Location: Humboldt Office

The Graphic/Communication Designer's role is to help bring the Alterra Brand to life on a daily basis. The Designer must be versatile and demonstrate a creative talent capable of working in Print, Digital & 3D. Not afraid to work hard, get hands dirty, be inventive and have exceptional attention to detail executing other people's ideas, as well as developing their own. Contributes to the vision of being world-famous with an entrepreneurial spirit and successful performance.

Service Administrator
Location: Humboldt
Department: Service
Status: Full Time, Non-Exempt
Schedule: M-F, some weekends as necessary

Job Summary:
The Service Administrator supports the service function by performing various clerical tasks. The Service Administrator is accountable for some aspects of the Service Department including, but not limited to: data entry, filing, sourcing, ordering, receiving and inventorying service parts and coffee processing equipment.

Duties Include:
* Processing of Service Department invoicing.
* Track and record new equipment installations and equipment swaps and resolve issues.
* Maintain and administer preventative maintenance schedules for Alterra and wholesale customer equipment.
* Schedule service calls for Alterra and wholesale customer equipment.
* Assemble equipment quotes.
* Answer and direct customer and Alterra queries regarding equipment issues and service appointments.
* Phone support (trouble-shooting and product knowledge) for Alterra and wholesale customers.
* Perform inventory cycle counts on service parts and equipment.
* Maintain inventory through ordering, receipt, stocking and labeling.
* Assist in install preparation.
* Assist with service part maintenance in MAS 200.
* Recall customer-placed equipment when necessary.
* Assist the Service Manager develop process improvements in the Service Department.
* Other duties or projects as assigned.

Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent. 1-3 years of administrative experience in a fast-paced environment. Valid driver license necessary.

Alterra Baking Company (ABC) Prep
Location: Humboldt
Department: Savory & Bakery
Status: Full Time, Non-Exempt
Schedule: Flexible

Job Summary:
This position is an entry level position that supports production in the Savory and Bakery Departments. Some of the supporting tasks include, but are not limited to: slicing, dicing, chopping, mixing and portioning of ingredients.

Duties Include:
* Refer to Daily Prep List at the start of each day.
* Understand and comply consistently with our standard portion sizes, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures.
* Maintain a clean and sanitary work station area including tables, shelves, walls and all other equipment used to complete Daily Prep List.
* Attend all scheduled co-worker meetings and bring suggestions for improvement.
* Promptly reports equipment and food quality problems to Operations Manager.
* Inform Operations Manager immediately of product shortages.
* Store food properly to prevent spoilage.
* Organize and put food supplies and equipment away in their proper places.
* Other duties or projects as assigned.

Requirements:
This position requires clear communication with managers, supervisors and other co-workers and an ability to read and write. This position also requires a good sense of organization, a high respect for food and high sense of urgency. Must be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50lbs.

Alterra Baking Company (ABC) Culinary Manager
Location: Humboldt/Bay View

Job Summary:
The ABC Culinary Manager is responsible for providing leadership in the role of Manager on Duty (MOD.) Supervises co-workers and delivers exceptional quality products and remarkable service. Ensures consistent and efficient ABC operations and meet daily goals. Pay attention to details and contributes as role model to achieve the vision of being world-famous. The ABC Culinary Manager is also an active participant in daily production.

Duties Include:
* Understand mission/vision and with Operations Manager collaborates to create a unique work envionment that encourages and supports care of customers, teamwork, open communication, trust, innovation, and individual development.
* Shift supervision. Assign co-workers to workstations. Delegate duties or tasks necessary for cafe function and assigned to specific shift (opening/closing.) Responsible for completion of all required daily duties in appropriate time frame.
* Provide co-workers with clear direction, necessary information or training and timely feedback to achieve performance standards. Keeps Operations Manager informed of co-workers' performance.
* Support consistent performance of standard operating procedures for product preparation, safe food handling, equipment usage, and facility maintenance.
* Knowledge of product on-hand levels, understanding necessary inventory levels to support business needs, communicating variances or needs to manager, and order to appropriate levels when assigned duty of placing an order.
* Participate in daily production.
* Responsible to completion of all necessary paperwork at end of shift (i.e. Prep List, Production Logs, Temperature Logs, and Invoicing.)
* Other duties or projects as assigned.

Requirements:
High School Diploma, prefer Associate/College business-related course work or degree. Minimum of 2 years experience in a supervisory role in a food service environment. Knowledge of basic mathematics for business usage. Availability and flexibility for schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays. Ability to stand for extended periods of time, reach, bend, and lift up to 40lbs.
